Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said: “The second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, themed “Convergence of Heritage – Building the Future,” is being held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s accession to UNESCO. The festival is not only a place to showcase the diverse cultures of Vietnam and other countries around the world, but also a space for cultural dialogue, where each nation brings its own unique values and finds common ground in diversity.”

The Deputy Minister believes that the greatest value of an international cultural event lies not only in the programs organized but also in the encounters, new understandings, and relationships formed as a result. Each culture present in Hanoi will add a unique color to the overall picture, and it is this diversity that gives the festival its vitality.
Regarding the event details, Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), stated: The second World Culture Festival in Hanoi will take place from October 1st to 4th, 2026 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel with the theme "Gathering Heritage - Building the Future," on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's accession to UNESCO.

The festival, bringing together participants from 50 countries, international organizations, and businesses, further affirms the growing scale and reach of this international cultural and diplomatic event. It provides an opportunity for cultures to meet, interact, and share unique values, while simultaneously promoting the image of Vietnam, Hanoi, and the country's cultural values and heritage to the international community.
Furthermore, this year's festival continues to promote the spirit of exchange, connection, and collaborative creativity through culture. The activities are designed to create a vibrant cultural space where countries can showcase their unique identities, heritage, and cultural values, while also opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, tourism , and creative industries.
With an expanded scale and more diverse content compared to the first festival, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi features 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls, a film screening program with participation from 18 countries, a fashion space with traditional costumes submitted by 19 countries, and the participation of 20 international art troupes, promising to create multicultural musical exchange spaces throughout the festival from October 1st to 4th, 2026. These figures demonstrate the growing appeal of the festival and create a comprehensive program with diverse formats, from exhibitions, performances, food, film, fashion, to music and cultural experiences.

Within the framework of this year's festival, the "Spreading Creativity from Heritage – International Games Festival" area offers a new experiential space, connecting historical and cultural values with technology and creative industries. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Vietnamese businesses, introduces, releases, and operates video games inspired by Vietnamese history and culture, creating opportunities for the public to directly experience and explore heritage through modern interactive forms, cosplay performances, dance routines from the Audition game, and LED screen effects, opening up a youthful, vibrant, and attractive experiential space at the festival.
Through a blend of heritage and innovation, tradition and contemporaneity, Vietnam and the world, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi aims to create an open cultural space where cultures not only meet and share but also forge profound connections. From values passed down through generations to contemporary creative forms, the Festival paints a colorful picture of culture, while affirming Hanoi as an international cultural destination, a place where the heritage, art, and creativity of Vietnam and the international community converge and spread.
The second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is expected to create a prominent cultural highlight in 2026, attracting the attention of the public and media both domestically and internationally.
