The Hyundai Custin is Hyundai's first mid-size MPV, strategically positioned between the Stargazer and Staria. This model is developed on the global N3 platform, sharing its structure with familiar models such as the Santa Fe and Tucson. In the Vietnamese market, Hyundai Thanh Cong assembles and distributes the Custin with the goal of directly competing with formidable rivals such as the Toyota Innova Cross and KIA Carnival.

The exterior design features a modern MPV-SUV hybrid style.
The name Custin is a combination of "Custom" and "Interior," reflecting a design philosophy focused on optimizing family space. The vehicle has overall dimensions of 4,950 x 1,850 x 1,725 mm (length x width x height), a wheelbase of 3,055 mm, and a ground clearance of 170 mm. Its exterior combines the practicality of a minivan with the muscular lines of an SUV.

The front of the car is impressive with its hexagonal chrome grille connecting the LED headlights in a "Parametric Hidden Lights" style. The body stands out with its sharp, embossed lines and sporty 17-18 inch polished alloy wheels, depending on the version.

In particular, the electric sliding doors on both sides make getting in and out of the vehicle in tight spaces much more convenient than traditional hinged doors. The rearview mirrors are moved down to the body of the car and combined with the slender A-pillar to effectively eliminate blind spots. The rear of the car is highlighted by the LED taillight cluster that runs across the tailgate and the prominent HYUNDAI lettering, giving it a luxurious brand feel.

The interior design is inspired by spaceships.
The Hyundai Custin's cockpit is designed with a technological and user-centric approach. The dashboard features a 10.4-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, integrated with a proprietary navigation system developed specifically for the Vietnamese market, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The instrument panel behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel is a sharp, digital display.

The most expensive feature in the interior is the second row of Captain's Chairs, which are 10-way independently adjustable and can recline up to 135 degrees. This position integrates leg rests, a work table, sunshades, individual wireless charging, and heating and cooling functions.

In terms of cargo capacity, the standard luggage compartment volume with all three rows of seats upright is 261 liters, expanding to 707 liters when the third row is folded down and reaching 1,223 liters if both rear rows of seats are folded flat.
Powerful performance and Turbo drivetrain.
The Hyundai Custin offers two turbocharged petrol engine options, paired with front-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT):
- The 1.5L Turbo GDi (G4FS) engine delivers a maximum power of 170 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 253 Nm in the 1,500–4,000 rpm range. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 9.9 seconds.
- The 2.0L Turbo GDi (G4NN) engine delivers a maximum power of 236 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 353 Nm in the 1,500–4,000 rpm range. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 8.2 seconds.

General assessment
The Hyundai Custin clearly demonstrates its advantages in terms of comfort, with business-class second-row seats, a powerful turbo engine, and an accessible price in the mid-size MPV segment. However, the relatively low ground clearance of 170 mm and the lack of a diesel engine option may be a point of consideration for some customers when driving on rough terrain.
