Around the world, in many countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea , and China, Cosplay (costume play) has become a popular cultural phenomenon, opening up rich creative spaces for the entertainment industry.
From comics, movies, and games to esports , characters from popular intellectual property (IP) are being recreated by young people through visual arts, costumes, and performances.
Keeping pace with this trend, the Vietnamese youth community is demonstrating the ability to selectively absorb international cultural elements while simultaneously creating new ways of expression that bear the mark of individuality and Vietnamese identity.

Deputy Director of the Copyright Office, Le Minh Tuan, poses for a photo with cosplayers.
Within this context, the Cultural Cosplay - International Cultural Exchange program not only creates a playground for young people who love cosplay, but also expands the space for culture to be accessed through contemporary creative language.
Through makeup, costume design, prop crafting, and performance art, familiar and novel cultural elements are transformed into highly creative products, contributing to connecting Vietnamese culture with the world .

With 16 performances, the show presented a vibrant tapestry of the culture and creativity of the cosplay community.
Notably, cosplayer Ta Thu Ha was honored in the "Overall" category with her portrayal of Bun Bo Hue (Hue-style beef noodle soup), bringing a Vietnamese culinary and cultural element into the language of cosplay in a youthful and unexpected way.
In the "Character Design" category, cosplayer Minh Hieu impressed with his portrayal of ZhongLi from the game Genshin Impact , showcasing meticulous attention to detail in costume design and craftsmanship.
In the "Performance" category, cosplayer Truong Thanh Ha won for her portrayal of Sailor Moon, an icon of Japanese popular culture.
Meanwhile, Au Mobile 's performance was awarded in the "Vietnamese Colors" category, bringing outfits that previously existed in the digital space to the real-life stage.

The diversity in the 16 performances shows that cosplay is becoming a way for young people to explore, engage in dialogue with, and create with cultural values.
The program's success also raises expectations that Cultural Cosplay will become an annual cultural event, thereby continuing to create a platform for the young creative community and contributing to connecting Vietnamese culture with the world.
