The closing ceremony of ASIAD 20 was presented by host country Japan to audiences across Asia with spectacular content and memorable traditional elements on the evening of October 4th, local time.

At the closing ceremony of the 20th Asian Games, the organizing committee implemented a program themed "ONE ASIA" with a clear message aimed at a united Asia through sports in general.

In the presentation, the organizing committee showed images from the 20th Asian Games, highlighting the many valuable achievements and successes of Asian sports.

The sports delegations, including the Vietnamese delegation, marched in the closing ceremony as a farewell to the audience and fans after days of exciting competition.

Following a vibrant musical performance on the main stage, the Head of the Organizing Committee for the 20th Asian Games of host country Japan delivered the official closing speech. Simultaneously, the President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani, also announced the closing of the 20th Asian Games, at which point the Asian Olympic flag was lowered.

Also at this event, OCA President Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani handed over the Asian Olympic flag to the representative of Qatar, the host country of the 21st Asian Games in 2030.

The 20th Asian Games featured 469 events across 43 official sports (71 sub-disciplines). The Chinese sports delegation led with 169 gold medals, 89 silver medals, and 83 bronze medals. Host nation Japan came in second (83 gold medals, 95 silver medals, and 91 bronze medals).

The Vietnamese sports delegation ranked 20th with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals.

At the 20th Asian Games, track and field athlete Boonson Puripol (Thailand) and young swimmer Yu Zidi (China) received the title of Best Athlete.
