On October 3rd, the Can Tho City Women's Union, in coordination with the Can Tho City Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, the Can Tho City Club for Trust, and local authorities, organized free medical examinations, provided free medicine, and distributed gifts to 200 poor and near-poor women members in My Tu commune.

This series of activities aims to commemorate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 – October 20, 2026); and also to concretize the plan of the People's Committee of Can Tho City on organizing periodic health check-ups and screenings for people in the city in 2026.
During the program, the medical team set up examination tables for internal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology, along with areas for performing paraclinical procedures. Through the examination program, many cases of chronic internal medicine diseases, as well as obstetric and gynecological abnormalities, were detected in a timely manner.

Besides diagnosing and advising on appropriate treatment plans, doctors also take the time to guide people on self-care, nutrition, and prevention of common diseases in women, especially middle-aged women.

According to Tran Thi Hang, Vice President of the Can Tho City Women's Union, providing healthcare for women in difficult circumstances is one of the practical activities aimed at protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members.
The program aims to contribute to raising awareness of proactive health care, disease prevention, and building a healthy lifestyle in the community.
Previously, the Can Tho City Women's Union, in coordination with relevant units, organized free medical examinations and provided free medicine to 200 members, disadvantaged women, and residents in My Phuoc commune.
