Ms. Duong Huyen Van, Director of the Southern branch of VTC Mobile's game center, stated that while some organizations still hold cosplay competitions, there is no official, national-level competition. Therefore, having a cosplay performance at a major festival like the World Cultural Festival is a way to honor cosplay culture and also a highlight that attracts young people to the festival.

Notably, many of the characters being cosplayed are already cultural icons, such as Sailor Moon. This can also be a cultural IP – crucial in the development of the cultural industry.

According to Ms. Huyen Van, when developing games, her company always requires partners to incorporate elements of Vietnamese culture. "Almost every game VTC makes has a first requirement when connecting with partners: they want to use the traditional Ao Dai dress. That's how we're gradually bringing our culture into the games," Ms. Huyen Van stated.

According to the organizers, on a global scale, cosplay (Costume Play) has transcended the boundaries of a personal hobby to become a popular cultural phenomenon and a multi-billion dollar industry. Vietnamese youth are also enjoying this activity, creating many variations of cultural elements with strong personal touches.
