The official unveiling ceremony was held by the Brisbane 2032 Organizing Committee on October 5th, just days after an incident that caused the emblem to be revealed earlier than expected. Specifically, on the evening of October 2nd, a promotional video , originally planned for release after the announcement ceremony, was inadvertently posted on the Brisbane 2032 Olympic YouTube channel. Although quickly removed, images and content from the video were captured and widely circulated on social media.

At the press conference following the incident, Brisbane 2032 Vice President Tim Mander and Marketing Director Brent Hill acknowledged that the early reveal of the emblem was unexpected, but said it was also a "pleasant surprise" that generated enormous media buzz for the Games.

The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic emblem is a stylized image of a pink-crested parrot – a bird characteristic of Australia. The colors are designed to evoke the Olympic and Paralympic flame, while the overall shape is inspired by Queensland, the host state of the Games. Brisbane Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the emblem is a tribute to the city and its way of life, representing a vibrant, resilient, connected, friendly, playful, and somewhat mischievous Brisbane. He added that the emblem also reflects the excitement spreading through the city as it is less than six years away from welcoming visitors and athletes from around the world .

According to the organizers, the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic emblem also incorporates cultural elements of Indigenous communities (First Nations). In particular, the cockatoo is considered a bird with deep spiritual significance, helping to connect people with their land, stories, and traditional rituals, thereby conveying a message of harmony and respect for their roots.

Speaking at the launch event in South Bank on October 5th, Brisbane 2032 Chairman Andrew Liveris stated that this was an opportunity to promote the unique characteristics of the Games, inviting the world to discover Brisbane and Queensland and participate in this international sporting event. The organizers also noted that the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic logo is entirely different from the Games' mascot. The Brisbane 2032 mascot will be unveiled closer to the opening day.

The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will center around Brisbane, the capital of Australia, while also hosting events in other cities across Queensland, including the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. This marks Australia's third time hosting the Summer Olympics, following Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000. The previous Sydney Games were notable for their iconic symbolism, featuring the Sydney Opera House, the harbor, the beach, along with boomerangs, rocks, and the sun.
